Christmas Recycling Activities & Competition

Did you know, we throw away around 30% more rubbish at Christmas?

The good news is there are lots of things we can all do to help to reduce this, like choosing gifts with no packaging, using up leftover food, reusing wrapping materials and recycling as much as we can.

We’d like to encourage as many people as possible to waste less over this festive period. Our Christmas activity sheet invites children to help the elves (and their families!) to pick up some top waste reduction tips by completing the challenges.

You could also win some eco-goodies by entering our ‘top tips’ poster competition.

We’d like you to create an eye-catching poster with a ‘top tip’ that will help people to waste less and recycle more this Christmas. The poster can be any size and can be made using any medium.

The competition is open to all Norfolk residents.

Competition prizesPlease email us a photo/copy of your entry to waste.managment@norfolk.gov.uk by Monday 14th December 2020.

Some of the best entries will feature on our social media pages. One lucky winner will be drawn at random, after the closing date, to win an eco-hamper, a craft set and some recycled stationery.
