A Christmas post, animates recycling with googly eyes are popping out of the page, the text reads. Unwrap the joy. Recycle this Christmas. This Christmas, unwrapping is just the beginning. When your festive favourites run out, make sure they end up in the recycling bin - not the rubbish.

This Christmas, once you’ve used all the smellies in your gift sets, don’t forget about the packaging. From aerosols to shampoo bottles, perfume bottles, and even the cardboard boxes — they can all be recycled.

So, whether you’re stuffing stockings or treating yourself, remember to give the packaging a second life. Recycle one more thing this Christmas, and let the packaging begin the new year as something brand new.

The Scrunch Test

Do the Scrunch Test to ensure you put your old wrapping paper into the right bin this Christmas!
Scrunch It To Sort It helps you work out if your wrapping paper can be recycled. Paper which contains foil, glitter and lots of sticky tape can’t be recycled and need to go in your rubbish bin.
To carry out the test, simply scrunch the wrapping paper in your hand. If it stays scrunched in a ball, it can go in your recycling bin (with sticky tape removed) BUT if it bounces back then it can’t be recycled and needs to go in the rubbish bin. Simple.
