Plastics are often used to create single-use products. Globally, we produce 320 million tonnes of plastic every year and 50% of that is for single-use purposes. Thanks to programmes like Blue Planet II and Drowning in Plastic, we’ve all seen the devastating impact that plastic can have on our environment. Each item is used just once before being thrown away but destined to pollute the planet for centuries.
