Reduce My Rubbish

Single-use products are only used once before they are thrown away or recycled. Demand for convenience has made throw-away items part of our daily lives.
But huge amounts of resources and energy are used to create these single-use items, and some of them take hundreds, even thousands, of years to break down. This all comes at a cost to our planet.
Plastics are often used to create single-use products. Globally, we produce 320 million tonnes of plastic every year and 50% of that is for single-use purposes. Thanks to programmes like Blue Planet II and Drowning in Plastic, we’ve all seen the devastating impact that plastic can have on our environment. Each item is used just once before being thrown away but destined to pollute the planet for centuries.
