Nobody likes to see littering in their community and it can be a serious problem, especially for pets and wildlife

However there is something communities can do to tackle the problem. There is evidence to show that having a clean neighbourhood helps to stop littering as litter breeds litter.

Local Councils do their best to provide bins and tackle littering however help from the community is always welcome, whether it be reporting littering or taking part in community litter picks after all many hands make light work.

To get involved or find out more information on litter picks please contact your local council
They can offer advice and information as well as equipment such as: hi-viz vests, litter pick sticks, hoops and sacks (if needed) from your local council.  They can also arrange collection of the rubbish following your litter pick.
