Mend and Make Beautiful, Re.source, Timberhill, Norwich
Event Date: 15/02/20
Saturday 15 February 2020, 3pm Re.Source, Timberhill, Norwich
Can we help make our loved items last longer, look beautiful and come out of the back of the wardrobe or blanket box again? Every week the UK sends 11 million items of clothing to landfill. Lots of us simply have clothes piled up that we’re not wearing because we don’t have the skills to repair them.
Kate Withers will be leading a regular workshop on a Saturday afternoon to help you mend and make your textiles or clothes beautiful again. She’ll arrive with threads and needles; you bring your garment.
We’ll go from there, meeting once a month, sharing and learning new skills, resourcing each other and our communities with newly discovered techniques, friendships and talents. We spent some time thinking up themes for each month, but we’ve decided to follow your lead and respond to what you hope to learn.
The sessions are donations based, founded in the gift economy. Suggested donations between £3 and £10 will support our ability to host workshops that resource our communities and each other.
