Wednesday Closures at Recycling Centres from 1 June 2025
The closure of Norfolk recycling centres on Wednesday will commence from 1 June 2025.
For information: Wednesday is one of the quietest days of the week at Norfolk recycling centres that are open full time.
13 of Norfolk’s 19 recycling centres currently open seven days a week, with the remaining six operating part time hours Friday to Monday. Closing on a Wednesday will help Norfolk County Council to make required savings, whilst keeping their impact on services users to a minimum and is in line with neighbouring authorities in Suffolk.
In Suffolk there was no reported increase in fly tipping incidents due to closing on a Wednesday. This mirrors past experience when introducing part time sites, closing sites and implementing new DIY waste policy changes or booking system.
