Meet legal requirements

All businesses have a legal 'duty of care' to dispose of their waste responsibly. If you do not comply, you could be held responsible and have to pay a fine.

What a business should do

Your business should: 

• Put waste in a container 
• Prevent or clean up litter caused by your business
• Transfer waste only to a licensed person 
• Complete a waste transfer note when your waste is removed 

If you are a business that transports your own - or others waste - you must have a waste carriers licence.
