Alternatives to recycling electrical items

Gift it, donate it or sell it

Some charities will accept electrical items. There are lots of online places where someone might buy  your item. Or you can give it away for free.

Some older vintage items may be worth more than you expect!

Visit www.norfolk.gov.uk to find a reuse shop. They sell PAT tested electrical items.

Fix it

There are still people out there who can mend items!  Try to find your local 'fix it' person. Visit the Repair Café website to find repair cafés in your area.

If it is broken, recycle it

We are currently only able to accept a limited range of large electrical items at recycling centres.

This is because of a significant fire at our electrical waste contractor's premises in Thetford on Thursday 16 April. The fire has had an impact on the treatment capacity for some types of electrical waste collected at Norfolk Recycling Centres.

Visit www.norfolk.gov.uk to find a recycling centre in Norfolk

We cannot accept electrical items as part of our business waste recycling.

Some small items such as mobile phones can be recycled online by sending them off in the post. You may get a payment even for an older phone.
