What is fly tipping?
You are fly tipping if you leave items:
- Besides street bins and recycling banks
- On the floor of communal bin areas
- Outside closed recycling centres and charity shops
- On highways, roads, paths, farmland and in the countryside
- On pavements and verges
- On publicly owned land, such as parks
How much waste is considered fly tipping?
Fly tipping can be a single item or bag. Or it can be:
- Lots of black bin bags
- Furniture
- Electrical goods
- Rubble
- Timber
- Mattresses
- Carpets
- Hazardous materials like asbestos or chemicals
