Paying someone to take away your waste?
If you are paying someone to take away your rubbish, you should:
- Suspect all waste carriers. Do not let them take your rubbish until they provide proof of a waste carriers' licence. Write down their vehicle's registration plate.
- Check the waste carrier is registered on the Environment Agency website
- Refuse any cold callers and offers to have your rubbish taken away. Search the Norfolk Trusted Trader website to find a waste carrier.
- Ask what will happen to your rubbish and get evidence of this
- Check paperwork. Make sure you get:
- A proper invoice
- A waste transfer note or receipt, including a description of the waste
- The waste carrier's contact details
